Your trust matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Tailsong collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to tailsong.com and our ordering and delivery service.
This is a plain-language summary of our privacy practices, provided for convenience and not as legal advice. We recommend having it reviewed by a qualified attorney before relying on it.
Who We Are
Tailsong (tailsong.com) provides the custom pet-song service described here and is responsible for the personal information covered by this policy. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights below, contact us at support@tailsong.com.
What We Collect
We collect only what we need to create your song and run our business:
- Order details — your name, email address, and the story, pet details, and any photos you choose to share with us.
- Payment information — processed securely by our payment provider (we never store full card numbers ourselves).
- Usage data — basic, mostly anonymous information about how you use our website, such as pages visited and device type.
How We Use It
We use your information to create and deliver your song, communicate with you about your order, provide support, process payments, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations, and improve our Service. We do not sell your personal information.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we process your information on these bases: to perform our contract with you (creating and delivering your order); for our legitimate interests (running, securing, and improving the Service); to comply with a legal obligation (such as tax and accounting); and with your consent where required (such as optional marketing emails), which you can withdraw at any time.
Service Providers We Share Data With
We share data only with the trusted providers that help us operate, and only as needed to run the Service:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — sending order and delivery emails.
- Supabase — secure database and storage for your order and song.
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
- Privacy-friendly analytics — understanding site usage in aggregate.
Each provider handles your data under its own privacy and security terms.
Payments via Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay, your card details are submitted directly to Stripe under their own privacy and security terms. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (such as the last four digits of your card) but never your full card number.
We use a third-party email provider to send order confirmations, delivery notifications, and occasional updates. Your email address is shared with this provider solely to deliver these messages. You can opt out of non-essential marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link, though we'll still send essential messages about your order.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect how the site functions.
International Data Transfers
Our providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your information when it is transferred internationally.
Data Retention
We keep your order information for as long as needed to deliver your song, provide support, and meet legal and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see "Your Rights" below.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond quickly if an issue arises.
Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request that we correct or update it.
- Request that we delete it.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent, or opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
These include rights under the GDPR (EU/UK) and the CCPA/CPRA (California). To exercise any of them, just get in touch and we'll respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.
